SacMod's Mid-Century Modern Home Tour 2016
Last weekend we had the pleasure of touring some of Sacramento's distinctive mid-century modern homes, thanks to a special event put together by SacMod (Sacramento Modern). We were also proud to support and congratulate our awesome friends Karen and Andy from Fogmodern who have been working around the clock for many months (years!) to restore and update their Sacramento Eichler home in preparation for the Tour.
With our fabulous neighbors and friends Christy and Brian, we trekked from the Walnut Creek RSM Eichlers to the SacMod Tour starting point to pick up a detailed guidebook and check out a number of fabulous mid-century modern wares and designers. We loved that the guidebook not only gave detailed history for each home, but pointed out local points of historical MCM interest around Sacramento. Unfortunately no photos of these historic buildings, as we were getting carsick trying to read history on the next house and simultaneously not get lost! It is great to see that there are still many original mid-century commerce buildings that haven't been torn down and turned into a Starbucks. :(
We ended the tour at Andy and Karen's home, where their passion and love for their home shines through. Many of you likely already follow their incredible journey in home restoration, but if not, here are a few shots we took of their lovely Eichler home and recent projects:
Enjoy some of our favorites from the tour! From original kitchens and bathrooms to midmod collectibles and custom designed outdoor pavilions + kitchens, this tour had it all! Thanks Sacramento! Till next time.
